engine power

Firstly, the rated power, also known as the calibrated power, is an important indicator that reflects the size of the tractor and determines the amount of national subsidies (if included in the subsidy catalog). Tractors from different manufacturers with the same rated power may not have exactly the same actual power because the engine power varies within a certain range. The manufacturer's "calibrated" rated power may be close to or much lower than the rated power. If you can still learn about high power from the manufacturer or dealer, it will help determine which tractor has a higher actual power or reserve power.

Transmission type

The technical level of a tractor mainly depends on the gearbox. At present, power shift is quite fashionable, and many tractors are claimed to be power shift tractors. In fact, there is still a significant gap between tractors with high and low power shifting and tractors with semi power shifting (also known as zone or section power shifting). Although it has made significant progress compared to pure mechanical transmissions, the gap between it and semi power shifting is far greater than the gap between semi power shifting and full power shifting. The technical level of the gearbox, arranged from low to high, is pure mechanical, high and low power shifting, semi power shifting, full power shifting, and continuously variable transmission. The higher the technological level of the gearbox, the better the economic efficiency of the tractor, which is also the fundamental reason for the higher price of the gearbox with higher technological level. However, it should be noted that transmissions with advanced technology may feel relatively slow and sluggish when shifting gears, which is normal.

wheelbase

Wheelbase refers to the horizontal distance between the centerlines of the front and rear wheel axles (see E in the schematic diagram). As long as you inquire with the manufacturer or distributor, you can obtain accurate values, or you can use a tape measure with a length of more than 3 meters to measure it yourself. The wheelbase parameter is advantageous for some tractors and disadvantageous for others. The advantage of a large wheelbase is that the tractor frame is large, the structural weight is heavy, the longitudinal stability is good, and less weight can be added during heavy load operations. The problem caused by a large wheelbase is that during light load operations, the tractor's weight cannot be reduced, fuel consumption is high, the turning radius is too large, and it is not flexible. Small wheelbase and high-power tractors are generally not suitable for pure traction heavy load operations, such as matching with traction type deep loosening machines, traction rakes, etc; However, large wheelbase and low-power tractors are difficult to become "universal tractors" that can adapt to various light and heavy load operations.
